A seasoned veteran of Radio and Television Broadcasting, Gavin is a native of Washington, DC. A former educator in the DC Public School Systems, Gavin committed his early career to empowering young scholars in the areas of Choral Music and English Literature /Grammar. He made the transition into Radio in 1992 after winning a Radio contest and was offered a weekend position instead. From that moment Gavin honed his on-air skills as a programmer and learned the art of formatting from some of the DMV's BEST. His love for Gospel Music opened a door for him to move to Mornings in Washington, Dc at WPGC-AM and from there he parlayed his gift for communication into an exclusive deal with BET, Inc. and their Live Gospel Brunch that garnered him national recognition for his interviewing skills. From local, national and International artists to European Models, Grammy Winners and some of Hollywood's brightest Black Actors and Actresses. From there Gavin made a name for himself locally with doing Voiceover work for various local clients; and that blossomed into several national ad campaigns that opened doors for a 5yr deal with a local agency. His voice has been heard on campaigns that include Tylenol, BMW and Procter & Gamble products to name a few. Currently, Gavin is heard globally on iHeart Media affiliates covering latebreaking news and traffic information as well as a daily contributor on The Black Information Network.
