Language is beautiful.

Words, beyond their meaning, have the incredible power to transcend the sounds emitted and truly move people, change opinions, shape feelings, spark emotions and so much more.

Language can be transcendent,

In addition to my double major in Psychology and Spanish I added the subdiscipline of Linguistics because for me, the way in which words are spoken, in any language, has always mattered.

The psychology behind one’s chosen lexicon eallures me; I find fascination within unique speech patterns. Changes in intonation, pitch, energy, tone, and breath - all of which are at play in any successful vocal performance - can turn a simple phrase into a social movement or even a high performing sales/marketing campaign…and sometimes both!

Language should be, for a voice artist, fun.

Word choice for me is as essential as word play; it is no wonder that Stephen Sondheim has always been my favorite lyricist. Without a doubt, Sondheim is THE master of the witty turn of phrase in the world of musical theater, a world in which I have both lived and loved.

Language will forever be my career.

It has been an honor to apply all my academic and practical training my 24 year career as a card carrying member of Actors Equity Association.
